Recently on a sunny cold day, I had a walk through Grand Place in Brussels - here all the roof tops stood out against the clear blue sky. When you look carefully, you see many small quirky details on these beautiful old medieval guildhalls.
Back in the 17th century when these buildings were built, the owners showed their importance and richness by adorning the facades and roof tops with many ornate decorations and gilded statues. Have a look at these few examples here.
