If you get a chance to visit New York, you most probably will also pass through the Grand Central station. If nothing else do try out the good Danish food in Meyer's food hall there. But please also step out on the street and stand at one of the corners of East 42nd street and Lexington Avenue.
Then look around you and look up!
Here you'll see so many great details in all the buildings surrounding you. Just have a look at these pictures taken precisely from this corner. Lots of quirky small designs all around and lots of them inspired by the Art Deco period, which I'm really fond of.
My clear favourite here is the Chrysler Building, just have a look at these bird wings high up there! I do love the entrance doors also.
