If you have been to Florence in Italy, you will surely have been amazed about all the beautiful architecture everywhere.
The regular historic houses are beautiful, but especially the churches and cathedral stand out.
First, you see them from practically all corners of the city, as their towers or domes reach well above the rest of the roofs.
Second, when you get closer, you keep catching a glimpse of them through the narrow roads.
And finally, when you're right next to them, they rise way above you as large giants. But here up close you also notice the great decorations made in the building. Just see here the Duomo di Firenze.
I love the geometry of the marble works: big bold lines, whereas the door and window frames are much more delicate as are the paintings above each door.
