Last week in Denmark the annual race of old sailboats took place around the island of Funen and I happen to be in Faaborg when they arrived to the harbour and left again the next day. I was on a small ferry to a small island called Lyø in the morning, when all the old ships started out of harbour - a wonderful sight ...
As usual, when sailing out of the harbour, the ships do not set sail, so I did not see them in their full splendour, except from at far distance. Nevertheless, the sight of all these boats is quite impressive and somehow when seeing this smooth sailing, one understands why our forefathers took to the seas around the world.
Have you also been admiring such fine sailboats? and where?
