One more impression from my recent trip to Paris: Metro signs!
We have all seen these metro signs, either in real life in Paris or in the many photos where they figure.
Whenever I pass one of these entrances, I still admire the nostalgic mood that they ooze to us and I try to imagine how it might have been more than a 100 years ago, when the metros and their entrances were just opened. Looking at the design of Art Nouveau, one imagine all the elegant Paris citizens milling in and out of the stations, though reality was probably a bit different back then right in the middle of the 1st world war.
