This weekend, China celebrates the end of the year of the Monkey and welcomes the start of the new year of the Rooster. On this occasion, I always get reminded of my years living in Beijing, where this Spring Festival is the most important holiday of all in that part of the world. It's a lovely holiday where families meet up and gifts and well-wishes are exchanged.
I used to receive a small toy symbolizing the zodiac sign of the new year. No longer being in China, receiving such small symbol, I wanted to knit this new zodiac sign into my blanket, so here you go : Welcome to the Rooster, the observant, hardworking, resourceful, courageous and talented.
