Yesterday, I attended a performance of opera singers in a beautiful setting. Young performers of the Academy of Maggio Musicale Fiorentino performed pieces from Carmen and other lovely well-known operas. It was so emotional - probably enhanced by the beautiful surroundings in which the concert took place.
A building in the hills of Fiesole opened its doors for a day and you could visit it and its stunning surroundings while listening to opera.
I could not help checking out all the carvings and frescoes around the courtyard - perhaps these will also become knitting patterns one day?
