Last Sunday, the city of Florence celebrated their patron, Saint John the Baptist. The day ends with a huge display of fireworks.
I cannot say I am a huge fan of fireworks; I always keep thinking of all that money just being burnt up in the sky and even more so of the negative impact to the environment.
Having said that, I cannot help but being impressed as well, when there is a good display. It is strange how a beautiful flower in the sky can draw you in, so that you feel you are about to be all embraced by this huge flower, just when it vanish from the sky again.
