I am back from a lovely Knitting Retreat for the weekend. We were six knitting ladies going to a remote mountain hut to spend the weekend knitting away. No internet, no mobile phone reach - just knitting, good food, great wine by live fire and more knitting - what else can one ask for a weekend?
The Retreat was organised by Giulia Boari who runs the LYS, Wooldone, in Bologna. These days, her shop is opened only a few times a week, due to the Covid restrictions, so we benefitted from her bringing yarn along for us to test instead of having to buy it unknown online.
It was a bliss to be away from the buzz of the city and with no one to reach you or any news getting to you. We just enjoyed the knitting company, exchanged wool stories and knitting techniques. You have here on the page all our various weekend projects, everything from socks and scarves to elaborate sweaters.
An overnight stay out in the middle of the woods on a mountain side with animals gnawing into the building during the night makes it just a perfect break from the daily life. I can recommend such a recharge anytime!
