After a very peculiar year with most of us spending time indoors only with our close family, we never thought that this year would see an end and yet Christmas has never the less arrived again and we are indeed nearing the end of a strange 2020.
Today is 1st Sunday in Advent and as usual I celebrate with an advent wreath, Christmas candles and an advent calendar, but … the flower shops are closed here in Italy, so I did not manage to get a pine wreath for this year’s advent, therefore I have a more modern one using my floor candlestick. It turned out OK in the end.
This year, both my husband and I are being spoiled with an advent calendar each. I wonder what is in our first present? The one coming my direction has ”Önling” written on it, so I think this great yarn store has been involved this year. I am looking forward to see what’s inside this interesting bag. Önling is a play on the Danish work ‘Yngling” which means favourite. Perhaps this year will be my favourite advent calendar?
You might remember that the past few years, I have been knitting “The Twelve Knits of Christmas”, so of course today the pear tree has appeared and the partridge has already landed.
This year another 25 pieces calendar with Christmas teas has also arrrived on my kitchen table. A good cup of tea each day of the December days sounds delicious and just what one need these colder, darker days, right?
Do you celebrate 1st Sunday in Advent?
